Was there any big hires or significant movement from the convention? Usually you get some movement from assistants, who are either tired of working at one place or get a chance to advance in responsibility.

I attended my first convention last year in Orlando. I am a vendor of coaching products and was very surprised at how few coaches attend. It is mostly a place where coaches network. TE, WR and GA coaches trying to move up to a better, bigger school. I did not see one head coach in three days unless they were scheduled to speak.

I am sure there was some interviewing in the rooms but it was a waste of time like most conventions.....a big cocktail party....not much else.

I would bet in the lobby where registration took place there must have been 1000 high school coaches and GAs handing out resumes. I had about 50 stop me and ask me if I was a coach.

Don't they post the available jobs like 100 and 2000 coaches wishing.

The Convention was always best place to get my HC to vendors so I could show him what I was ordering and got my Russell for early price break and Riddell orders in so I got my pads in before Spring ball. But I usually saw some guys get jobs there, especially FCS level assistants
