I keep hearing some people say that he needs to be promoted or we might lose him.

Honestly, would he be that hard to replace?

Hard to say considering no one really knows the role he played in the offense this season.

Based strictly on receiver play, it appears he would be replaceable. Don't really know how he's recruiting.

No one really knows... I do know that a lot of UF fans were really pissed to see Addazio get the nod over Gonzo.

He has significant experience coaching and recruiting at top SEC programs. If you value that experience and what it can do for a program, then he would probably be considered a valuable commodity.

Hard to say, but I dont want to find out. When you have a quality Coach, you go out of your way to keep them.

But you don't promote him just to keep him if you have better OC candidates outside the program.

He's a recruiter and a solid wr coach but he's easily replaceable. The Florida thing had much more to it than just being passed up.There were some promises made and he felt he was the better candidate(and was right). He's not going anywhere until someone gives him a shot at OC or gets told to find another job.He is a valuable recruiter but recruiters can be replaced aside from Frank Wilson due to his pull in LA.

Agreed. I think he did a great job recruiting this year but I haven't really seen an improvement in WR play.

IMO you can't blame drops on the coach. It's up to him to put the wr in the right spot to make the play and he did that IMO.

If we hire fuente, just promote him to co oc and in title only. Let fuente call the plays and work with the qb's and Billy can learn from him. Has Billy ever called plays?

I have no idea what BG does, or has ever done since he's been here.

...other than receivers missing or just flat out not making blocks downfield. Watch an LSU game anywhere from 2000-2007. You see receivers making blocks downfield. You don't see that with this group.

Les needs to hire the best OC available and if Gonzales doesn't like it than he can hit the road. If Gonzales is the right man for the job, than I hope he gets it. Bottom line is that we should be able to hire from a position of strength not weakness, and we shouldn't worry about losing a position coach who's players underperformed for most of the year.

honestly there's no way in hell Miles tells BG to hit the bricks b/c he found a coordinator that's a WR coach and now he needs to go hire a QB coach.

I thought Gonzales was hired to make shepard into a Percy harvin type offensive weapon! IMO has not been succesful (yet)!

I saw absdolutely no difference in our receivers and Shep may have gotten worse.
