Question about Crowton staying.

The main thing that points out to me is that Crowton DID interview for the Maryland OC job.
Why would Crowton interview for a "lesser" job that will probably pay a lot less if Les Miles didn't ask him to find another job?
Because of this I truly believe Crowton won't be here next season. I know people keep bringing up the fact that he said he hasn't been fired and that Les Miles also said the same thing. But you don't go interviewing for a "demotion" if your current employer hasn't planned on canning you.
If Maryland DOESN'T take him, does Les Miles keep him? That seems like a bad way to conduct business... I know Miles doesn't want to fire him and he wants to make sure he can land on his feet, but do you keep a guy around when you made it obviously clear we're interested in replacing him?

Crowton can resign, not get fired.

you're missing the point.
common knowledge says miles wont "fire" him or force him to resign
what he's saying is that even if he stays, that the chemistry/attitude can't be good and it could end up being a disaster.

He's not going to fire a coach. Look at Malleveto, it was a disaster of epidemic proportions where a firing and public stoning would have been welcome by many by Miles took the high rode and asked them to pursue other jobs.

Exactly
You don't ask a guy to find another job then keep him around if he can't.

Any of you guys stop to think that maybe crowton interviewed with Maryland because he thought les was going to Michigan? Now that he knows otherwise he plans on staying on BR?

do we trust the WWL article when they are hanging it solely on Glenn Guilbeau's claims?
Posted on 1/12/11 at 3:21 pm to SeminoleMarine
WWL is basing all their info from Guilbeau who many believe is speculating. I hope he is indeed gone, but the WWL thread was unstickied for that reason. Either way I feel we'll know for sure after tomorrow's coaches meeting.

I think that's something Miles would've shared with Crowton. I think he knew he was staying but told Crowton to look elsewhere. Either way that is something Head Coach/Assistant Coach would talk about beforehand.
You don't interview for a job unless you're 100% ready to take it. What if Maryland settles on him as their final pick?

By tonight if Crowton hasn't resigned or found another job, he will be fired! Reasoning behhind it that LSU cannot assure the Next Off. cord of a Job unless Crowton is gone. I think Miles has been letting Crowton look for a job for a long time. They are both really good friends. Crowton knew what MIles was going to do with the Michigan Job for sure. LIke I stated they cannot annouced the new Off. cord unless Crowton is gone. I believe he has until tomorrow morning to state that he has either found another job or he will be fired.

Miles wouldn't have told him if he didn't know for sure himself.
Crowton interviews with Maryland to get in the fight asap. If miles comes back, fine. If he doesn't then he's ahead of the game. Sounds as plausible as the rest of the bullshite on here.
