I’m sure I’m wrong, because according to the girls I date I’m generally wrong, but for the first time ever, I feel like LSU has arrived on the national stage.

I know we’ve been winning for 10 years and I know we have two BCS trophies, but after the first one we took a step back and then Saban left, then people doubted Miles and refused to give him credit for his title, and then we took another step back, but now, after going 11-2, beating Bama, winning the Cotton Bowl big, with so much talent coming back and coming in and now Miles locked in, something seems different.

I see writers and other fans, even ones from Bama and OU and USC and Florida, mention LSU without snickering, without a condescending Miles joke or Saban reference. There’s less talk about what we do wrong, more about what we do right. Less about our weaknesses, more about our strengths.

I don’t really have a point to this, or a question, it’s just a feeling, an observation, that today is a very good fricking day to be a Tiger.

I get that feeling a little bit as well

The fact that we'll likely make the preseason top 10 for the first time in 3 years should reconfirm it.

Here's to closing out another stellar recruiting class

Despite the MANY postings on TD.com... ESPN does not HATE LSU... we get a LOT of pub on the highest profile sports network in the country.

This whole Les Miles to UM... "story" has kept LSU in the headlines... and for "positive".

It does feel good to be a Tiger and the future of LSU football is bright.

I 100% agree. Plus we now have a coach who truly wants to be (and stay) here. I love it. Geaux Tigers!

Paying the 2nd highest salary in the SEC to your coach will insist on continuity.

I feel the same way.
Lets not forget, Michigan wanted Les, and they are a "northern" school. And we ALL know how the media and espn would would lick the ball sap off of what coulda happened if Les left LSU, they were lickin' their chops. So in a small way, the "media" has legitimized it. So its "ok" to be a tiger fan now and not be embarrassed. Whatever....

it IS a very good day to be a Tiger. Miles is a great coach and even if you don't believe that you gotta admit it's entertaining. this season has been very, very awesome, and i think we have a great team coming back next year.
