My sources are as strong as anyone's and they say a decision or deal is not made and that he wanted to sleep on it.

No. They won't make the offer first, they would discuss Miles interest in the job and the conditions that CLM would need to consider going to UM. Then UM makes the offer and CLM has to decide, based on the details of that offer and the details of LSU's counter.
If Miles decides to stay, he will probably do so before ever seeing the "official offer". Then he will be able to say that he talked to UM and appreciates their "want" for a damn strong coach, but told them that his heart is at LSU now and that he declined the UM offer before they ever made an offer.
