I'm finally about to buy one and I can't pull the trigger! I've got the $ but I just don't know if I'll use it as much as I think I will. During the summer I grill 3-4 times a week on my weber gas but I've never used charcoal and can see myself getting frustrated.

But I love the idea of smoking and grilling and what not on this grill.

WTF.

k..i've had the EGG for what..a month now? i'm thinking of giving my regular grill away. i've had the best brisket, beef tenderloin, lamb, and ribs i've ever had. its so freaking easy to start...about the same time it takes to scrape off the grill and oil it. ITS A NO BRAINER.

i've had a BGE for about 14 months now. charcoal is very easy to use--get an electric starter. in 8-9 minutes you have all the heat you need.
No cleanup except ashes about every 3 cookings, keep the grill clean. everything else vaporizes.

my wife bought mine for me as a present. it is wonderful. i look forward to cooking w/ it. high moisture content, very versatile. Do it, you won't regret it.

Really? I haven't emailed you in months. Not since you sent that spreadsheet on ceramic cookers.

Don't do it Coon! You can't switch to the "other side"... HeadSlash will be trying to get you to buy a Prius and use synthetic toilet paper... Be very careful..

I think ceramic cookers are great, but me personally I would rather buy a 22 inch Weber Smokey Mountain for smoking and then a Weber Performer for Grilling/Smoking.

Psudeo-pulling the trigger this weekend. I almost went to BR to pick one up today but didn't want to get it and not have a place to put it. I went to the lumber yard today and priced the cypress I will need to build the table that I want and will begin construction this weekend. Once complete I'll pick up the grill and be good to go.

I'm going to build this table out of cypress but instead of an open space below the non-grill side I'm going to put three sides and a fold down door to store charcoal and other accessories.
