He is not leaving as TCU is a private school with large endowments. They can pay him what they want and how they want. Additionally, TCU will finish in the top two or three of the big east for a long time.

No. He has had his team flirting with the national title while on the outside looking in, now he's in the Big East.

This is huge, whether we want to acknowledge it or not: the Big East gets an automatic qualifier, just like the SEC etc. So no more dancing around with Boise to get an at-large bid; his challenge is to win the Big East and his team gets into a BCS bowl, and if he goes undefeated he will likely get a shot at the title. Had Wisconsin blasted TCU, he might leave, thinking the program wasn't good enough to win it all. But they beat Wisky, and I think that gives him the confidence that they can win a single bowl game against anyone for all the marbles.

Ask yourself these questions- who is more likely to go undefeated: TCU in the Big East, or LSU in the SEC? Would you rather live in Dallas-Ft Worth, or Baton Rouge?

If I kept having season like him and not getting to the big game id be gone with a quickness.

And we can pay more. We can offer the challenge of the SEC, which coaches want at this level. No competition with being a directional school with four other schools in better conferences in your own state. Small stadium in a pro sports town. And that's not to mention the fact that other schools outside the state can all recruit within better.

He has made TCU what it is, but TCU without him isn't a great job and being in the Big East is not what coaches are searching for. Just look at the track record.

Aside from the top 5 preseason comment (they're losing a ton of sr's, so they'll fall in the 2011 polls), I agree wholeheartedly. He's paid well, and he's incredibly loyal to the school - he views that program as the child that he reared, and I don't see him leaving at the precise moment that the child peaks. Also, putting the prestige of coaching LSU aside, he knows he has a much higher prability maintaining success and making it to the NC game in the Big East. He'll be recruiting and ultimately coaching Texas talent, playing against east coast talent. No-brainer.

He'll leave eventually when the right opp presents itself. This bs ab loyalty is overrated when it comes down to that or coaching at the highest level

I'm not sure we get him but we should try. And people are naive if they think his goal is to stay at TCU forever.
