10 reasons why Miles is GONE!
Posted on 1/7/11 at 10:12 am
Posted on 1/7/11 at 10:12 am
10) SEC Level of competition compared to the Big 10, beat Tressel (which he has done) and compete for a National championship every couple of years.
9) SEC level of recruiting compared to the big 10 ( Head to head with the best coachs in the nation)
8) Big 10 style of play is Les Miles Style of Play...
7) LSU fans lack of Respect and appreciation, 3 yrs removed from a National Championship
6) LARGE % LSU fans are ungrateful short memoried spoiled brats
5) LSU fans lack of Respect, Midway through an UNDEFEATED season
4) LSU fans lack of respect and appreciation after a 10-2 season!
3)It is his self proclaimed Dream Job
2) It is home
1) HE did the "RIGHT" thing during the 07 Championship run and passed on the "dream Job"
He was loyal and unselfish and put the team 1st! Yet that same loyalty has NOT been returned by the LSU fan base and in fact threats/rumors of his firing are alive and well. This is his only chance of the Michigan job and he passed on it once ...He is not going to do it again. He will do the right thing and play the game tonight and accept the job over the weekend!!
DONE DEAL!
Michigan would be making waves looking for a coach yet pretty quiet. They all know les is putting the team first and denying in the proper manner yet when the time comes he accepts and moves on in the most classy way POSSIBLE!
Loyalty not recipricated is stupidity and contrary to popular opinions LES is not stupid and his move to Michigan will prove it!
9) SEC level of recruiting compared to the big 10 ( Head to head with the best coachs in the nation)
8) Big 10 style of play is Les Miles Style of Play...

so your an ungrateful spoiled brat to which i am referring....
Miles is not without faults, but what you morons don't understand is that HE is a DAMN STRONG coach and a Class act and when we lose him and hire the next guy(Who will also have faults) and your all up in arms b/c we don't go undefeated every year and win 3 National Championships in a row.... Please kick yourself in your arse for me!

We should win a NC next season with or without Miles. I'm sure he realizes this, and therefore will stay and be part of it.

I've been thinking this very thing. Next year is his year to take HIS team to a NC...hopefully without 2 losses. Would he give that up to go to Michigan and start a complete rebuild?

Some of you "fans" (term used losely) act like winning a National Championship is like a little league tournament. "Yeah, they got the johnson twins and big Kevin, everyone is playing for 2nd place"
Its a National Championship you tards! The recreation league president doesn't hand those out and you can't pick one up at the local Academy sporting goods store! WOW!

My thoughts are based on what we have returning, what everyone else is losing, and why we didn't win this season.
If Miles stays, I say we're preseason #2.

10-8 make sense from a coaches chances at success standpoint. Although he has done pretty damn well in the SEC.
7-4 also make a lot of sense. A lot of people just don't realize what Coach Miles has done in 6 years. Avgeraging 10 wins a year, an SEC Championship, & a National Championship, top 5 recruiting classes (I know the qb situation & crowton's lack of offensive progress might put a damper on this one) is nothing to laugh at in the SEC, the SECW for that matter.
3-1 Is something that money or conference or whatever can't deny. You can't blame the guy for "going home". Think about it from a reverse standpoint, if you were in the coaching business-as a rabid LSU fan/ex-player-wouldn't you drop everything for a chance to go back? He passed up the chance in 07' because he was committed to LSU & was in the midst of a NC season, that was the right thing to do. Today, the future is bright at LSU but without the "do the right thing" factor this time around, I think we can't blame him IF he chooses to make the move & give um a shot. I don't want him to leave but I would have to do the right thing & try to understand it IF he does.

Yep. I agree. I am afraid collectively, LSU fans are about to get exactly what we deserve. Unfortunately it will be at the expense of the program.
Be careful what you wish for LSU fans. The Archer/Hallman/DiNardo days were not tht long ago.

My reponse is actually a compliment to Miles. He has continued a great program with outstanding talent. But if he wants to leave, he'll do so. And your berating of people that don't share your opinion won't influence him. If he leaves, we'll be fine.

So, to summarize: you started this thread to basically bash LSU fans.
Yeah, that's original. NOBODY'S ever tried THAT approach before.

It's not Les' feelings anyone is concerned about, its the perceived (perception is reality) pressure or hot seat that miles now sits! Miles has to evaluate his situation and say do I stay here where its literally a Championship or the ax next year OR do I get while the getting is good! If he is fired from LSU does anyone think Michigan or any other top tier school make themselves available! No two steps back before moving forward!
From Miles perspective its the logical next move!

To summarize, if your an LSU fan that wants les gone after a 10-2 season and u fall into the spoiled brat of a fan category then original or not it needs to be said bc it will be a contributing factor to losing a damn strong coach!

The program is in much better shape than it ever was back then. Even if Miles were to leave, (and I don't think he will), LSU football would be fine.

Not really.
- He is currently running a year-in year-out top 10 program for the most part
- He is in an conference that in a few days might win its 5th BCS title in a row
- He is in a hotbed of recruiting talent that he has shown he can pull from well
- He has no other in state rival
- He is getting paid top dollar
- His kids are in high school right now and his family is happy here
Leaving all of the other butthurt crap out of it like a grown man like him would, he isn't going anywhere
