I would generally say that most people would clean the animal and use the meat, but when boars get bigger the meat goes to shite and it isn't worth it because they are much harder to skin and clean than a deer would be.

Just playing devils advocate here, but killing and letting them lie can add or an ever growing coyote problem that alot of areas are experiencing too. It's kind of a double edged sword.
