I don't think you understand what "squashes Michigan talk" even means. He did nothing of the sort.

why didn't he say "i will be the head coach at lsu" again, and tell everyone to have a great day?

No he didn't. If anything, his response gives "more smoke to the fire".

Yesterday, I didn't think he was considering Michigan; after reading his comments today, I'm not so sure.

He said no one has any reason to be concerned.

That settles it for me--he's staying.
Three years ago LSU coach Les Miles stepped to the podium and denied any interest in the Michigan job, a take-that to the media that famously ended with his “have a great day” line.

That moment came in the middle of the Southeastern Conference Championship week in Atlanta.
Really. I thought for sure that moment came the morning of the SECCG, not the middle of the week.

How often does your dream job come around twice in a short period of time. Les Miles is one of the luckiest men in coaching.

That was downright cryptic. He's definitely headed to Ann Arbor if he's offered the job.

If Miles parlays this b.s. into a contract extension, then the people running the show are truly foolish.

It's bad enough he got one for almost f'ing up the gold-plated opportunity that was the '07 season. To get one after he lucks into not losing 4 games for the 3rd straight year would just be too much.

Les will go if offered. He's done it all @ LSU. He is under appreciated. He will go home. He won't miss out on a 2nd chance to conquer his dream. We'll miss him.
