Alumni w/ deep pockets or no, you're talking like $2.5 million is not a lot of money. But it is. Brandon has an athletic budget to oversee, you don't. And there would be an awful lot of those deep-pocketed alumni asking him exactly why he didn't wait a little while and save the university that money. They didn't get their deep pockets by just giving cash away, you know.

Not just this, which is true enough. While U of M isn't in the same financial straits that LSU is, it is dealing with budget constraints that are severe relative to what it has had to deal with in the past (the recession has hit the State of Michigan pretty hard, as you must know). And to the extent the Athletic Department has to coexist with the rest of the University, "tossing in" an extra million or two because you don't want to wait a week or two doesn't help that dynamic.

To some here its not, especially those that really wanted to get rid of him right away. Whatever, I know I'm rambling and sound angry, sorry for that, I'm just annoyed. No doubt RR was not going to work out here, that much was obvious. Whether DB has someone lying in wait or not, the unknown this late in the game would make any fan nervous, pissed, upset, whatever.
