But it has suited the media's agenda to pick on him, with little regard to truth. I'm not saying they've been "out to get him" so much as they have failed to restrain themselves in pursuit of a catchy routine and if he becomes "collateral damage" they couldn't care less.
Well said, and the 'backtracking' by the media since the Alabam win has been fun to watch.

I personally think that Brandon has assumed probably since early October that Harbaugh would gladly take the Michigan job at year's end. I even believe, based on some information I have heard that Brandon had a "handshake" agreement with Harbaugh at the end of the season...hence the long wait until bowl season ended.
I think Harbaugh stock, which was already high, went through the roof at the end of the NFL regular season with jobs like Miami and SF opening up coupled with the performance against VT.
Harbaugh has now re-thought and is probably more inclined to take an NFL gig, no matter the money considerations because it is more prestigious and probably a less stressful gig.
Point being, a lot has changed in the last week.
My guess is that Brandon has no clue who the next coach will be but his short list no longer includes Harbaugh, but likely includes Hoke, Miles and probably someone like Kevin Sumlin or Charlie Strong.
