Does anyone else believe the Rooney rule is outdated?

Isn't it more offensive to these black assistant coaches to know they are getting a token interview. Just doesn't seem like this needs to still be in the NFL. The NFL has had lots of good black head coaches, these guys are getting hired based on their merit not the color anymore.

I'm not so sure Raheem Morris and Mike Tomlin become coaches if it wasn't for the Rooney Rule.

anyone else think that if black coaches were so offended by the rule they'd have voiced that displeasure and gotten the rule removed?

It should be offensive to African Americans that some people still think they need every advantage given to them. The Rooney Rule by definition gives African Americans a "head start" over any other ethniticty (sp). You don't give a "head start" to someone who you think is on even footing. Its pathetic, because I have plenty of African American friends that are smarter/faster/better than me. To even promote the idea they need an advantage is bullshite and offensive.
