Not trying to flame. I'm just really curious as to why players want to play for him.

But why do top players continue to choose LSU even after all of his frick ups?

Because he's LES frickING MILES and his frickups still have shots at championships and nonstop media exposure.

So much for, "Not trying to flame."

I'm seriously not trying to flame. Les Miles is one of the only coaches in sports that I actually respect.

1st of all, it's a top shelf program called LSU which plays in the toughest conference in the country.
Secondly, Les cares about his players and has good relationships with them. I think players like Les as a man, mentor, etc.
Lastly, Les has the courage to go for it on 4th down or call a trick play late in a big game if he thinks his team needs it or has the capability of pulling it off.

It's funny that a Tulane fan would bring this up considering their whole athletic program is one colossal frick up.

Every coach has frick ups. Even Saban.

Then why would you seem apparently surprised other kids see what you see?

You are not telling the truth.

I was really referring to the clock management issues and the offense as a whole. FWIW, I think he's one of the most genuine and funniest coaches in college football

Because I'm not a greedy 18 year old football recruit who could virtually choose any team in the nation.

then what's the point of this thread?

Initially, they are attracted to the ballsy go-for-the-win mentality of Miles and his magical success.
They also know he will play them as freshman.
Then they find out he genuinely cares about them and trusts them, and they will go to battle for him at all costs.
He's like the lovable version of Rex Ryan. For some reason, players are attracted to those unorthodox "ballsy" kind of coaches.
