They told me Malzahn was offered to satisfy Leach-haters but Gus' offer included that they wouldn't let him coach the BCSNCG, which was put in there so he wouldn't accept

That being said, my brother in law just texted me and said "it looks like it's gonna be Leach"

He should take it and forget the BCSNCG. The less games he coaches, the less time he spends in jail along with AU's rogue athletic department.

That would be absolutely retarded on Maryland's part.

Why in the world would Maryland do that?

Silly and disrespectful quite frankly!!!

Can you imagine N telling Bo, no BCSMNC game?

And you don't offer coaches their first gig just to satisfy segments of their fan base.

None of the post makes any sense at all..Grown ups don't roll as was suggested..

I think what happens to a lot of coaches that come to Maryland, they think it's like any other place and then after their third year they realize it isn't and then they're stuck. It's tough to sustain. Just go back and look at the history."

That comment right there is probably most accurate, since Maryland is and always will be a basketball school.

My father was stationed in Maryland in the 1950's during the Korean war. He cannot confirm what your in-laws heard.

That's the whole point of his story! He said they did that intentionally so they could calm some big boosters down by saying he declined the offer. Then all would be ok with hiring Leach. DOnt wory, if this is true, they will definitely forget any animosity towards leach when his offense starts racking up 40 pts per game!

And, if I were offereing someon with NO head coaching experience a monster salary and term, you damn right I want him recruiting ASAP! Like today! While ther are still recruits to be swayed. by Jan 10th, most decisions will be made and a year of learning a system goes to waste because its not the recruits he needs for HIS system.

I recon that he will at least get offered 1.3

Wait, he already turned down 3.4??? is that right>

What did Vandy offer him? Crazy money

Vandy's "package" offer was $3 million, and of that only $1.6 million was guaranteed. The other $1.4M was in incentives (and given it is Vandy, most was not likely to be received).
