What is the 'experience' difference between West Upper (where I have lived the past few years) and South Endzone?
Posted on 12/29/10 at 12:45 pm to igoringa
You can see the players on the field. Also hear the band etc

I've had season tickets in the south endzone for a long time. It is great place to watch games. I wouldnt trade my tickets for anything.

Undoubtedly, you are going to get widely disparate answers to this question. However, as a denizen of the SEZ, I feel compelled to point out that the fans in that area are the most raucous, loudest, craziest sons of bitches outside of the student section. I love it there and I refuse to sit anywhere else. My section has become a part of my extended family over the last decade.
The view from the West Upper is probably better.

I am accurate to say that section 421 is the SEZ, correct?

Southwest upper corner of the SEZ. Generally, the upper deck of the SEZ offers better views of the field than the lower deck of the SEZ (although I sit on the lower and love it). Obviously, the upper deck of the SEZ is still closer to the field and louder than the true mammoth upper decks on the East and West side of the stadium.

Uppers get you a great view of the plays developing on the field.
Lowers get you close enough to see the hits and hear the sounds of the game.

Yep.... I had Upper West on the end section 610 in 2009... I didn't like the "feel" there... the view was fine... but didn't have the band, etc.
I sat in EU -- 635 (50 yard line) for Bama and Ole Miss 2008... it was AWESOME.
I sat in row 11 on the East 20 yard line for OM this year...

North endzone by the band and student section is where it's happening.

East/West too corporate and lousy, South EZ is just embarrassing drunk uneducated fans. Theres nothing more aggravating than listening to somebody next to you explain whats going on when he really has no clue what hes talking about.. or bitching about shite and being completely off base.
North EZ seems to have the more informed fans imo.

I sat in the west upper for bama. Did not really enjoy it as I really couldn't hear the roar of the crowd and the band. If you want to be in the stadium its great. I think i'd rather watch at home though than be up there.

I sat in the South end zone in 1998 & 1999. We felt like we were sitting among trailer park people. It is more of a rowdy, foul mouth crowd there. Also, your depth perception is not good. You can't see the action on the other side of the field. We moved to the West Uppers on the 50 yard line in 2000. We are higher, but I can see the whole field. I also don't have to ask the marshals to take out the trash.

I agree. I sit right in front of the Bayou Bengals Insider man and that guy always knows about recruits and what not. A couple games this year it seems like we had extra people in our section or people got fatter. I was sandwiched in my seat for a few games.

My season tickets are in the West Upper, and love it there. As said before, see plays develop, see the whole field. In the SEZ, if they are playing on the North end of the field, it's hard to tell if they gained 1 yard or 10.
NOW, I did sit in the SEZ upper for a game this year. The one thing that bothered me is nobody stayed in their seats to watch the freakin' game. People were constantly getting up and going down the aisles etc. Told the person I was with to look at the East and West Uppers, and not a person was walking down the aisles, while we were constantly having to stand and let people by.
It got really bad when one group of 4 people would go down and get something to drink. 5 minutes later, they went back down and came up with peanuts. 5 minutes later, they went down and got Tiger Dogs. This went on the whole damn game.
