having an OC who is a great recruiter isn't necessary, just helpful.

I've heard that Paul Chryst only leaves for a HC job.

Controls the tempo of the game. With a solid defense that other team shouldnt hardly see the field. Example Bama last year.

TOP, and wear the opponents D out, and at the end of a close game can be the deciding factor. Love a tough, hard nose run game with a well timed passing game. With our D, we could control the entire game. With Mett on board could be awesome things to come......

like texas 05? florida 06? lsu 07? florida 08? auburn and oregon 2010?

look whos lost the BCS title game in that time frame: tOSU 06, OU 08, texas 09.

seems like the best 2 teams every year are spread teams. when is that gimmick going to die? seems like bama last year was the anomaly, not the trend

Both run the spread?

I don't think the spread is a gimmick, but I don't see a problem with a good pro-style offense too.

I think the offensive style that best fits what Miles wants to do is that run by Ken Whisenhunt in his Pittsburgh days. Basically a possession style, downhill offense with trickeration thrown in to keep defenses honest and get speedy guys the ball in the open.

Wisconsin was hanging 70 on teams this year.

Que: wasn't against SEC defenses and Les doesn't run up the score

When was the last time we had the offense or opportunity to run up the score?

Historically, LSU has been a pro style offensive team. LSU is built to be a run-first pro style team. Not the spread option passing iformation running QB draw QB sneak power rushing quick passing no deep routes where's the first down OMG WTF is going on where do I line up am I supposed to be on the field offense that Crowton runs

you forgot "it's working so let's stop running it before the defense shows they can stop it I hate big plays so son no more carries for you"

adapt or get left behind. you know what i like more than tradition? winning football games. id rather be gimmicky, undefeated oregon this year than be traditionally offense, 9-3 bama
