LSU is a bigger draw for recruits than Miles is.

I have not been the biggest Miles fan. His constant time management gaffes, and mind numbing offensive philosophy have turned my stomach at times. But, to lose him shortly after Jan. 1 would be a big blow to LSU. Chucky ain't coming to LSU - he'll wait till the end of the NFL season and get an NFL job. Del Rio may have rescued his career in Jacksonville this season. Pellini is a hot head and he and Lombardi will not co-exist.
The players appear to genuinely love playing for Miles. If he stays, and gets rid of Crowton, next season could be special. If he leaves, all cards are off the table.

All Miami did is frickING UPGRADED their head coaching position. They hired Golden before Penn State. This guy will be a success.

And UF hired the next HC at Texas, a coach half this board wanted here a year ago

I liked the Miami hire, but the fact that UF, a job perceived to be one of the best in the country, couldn't hire someone with head coaching experience, should be a red flag for all LSU fans looking for a change this year. Get a new OC, recruit well, and gear up for a championship run next season.

LSU no doubt attracts top recruits, but that doesn't mean a coach doesn't have to put forth the effort to get good players to LSU. You have to win, and hire assistants that can recruit well (See Frank Wilson). For that, the head coach is to be commended.
