I'm at a total loss how explaining 4 points would be easier than explaining 6

offensive ball carrier crosses opponent's goal line...how many points? 6 most times, 2 sometimes

how many points if ball kicked through goal posts? 3 sometimes, 1 many times

under this idea:

offensive ball carrier crosses opponent's goal line...how many points? 4 pts

how many points if ball kicked through goal posts? 3 pts

Player with ball crosses opponents goal line = 6 points. Player kicks ball through goal posts = 3 pts. After a TD and from the 2 yard line, player crosses with ball = 2 pts and kicked through goal posts = 1 pt. Player tackled in their end zone = 2 pts.

Was that hard to explain to your friend?

If he has a hard time understanding that, how are you going to explain pass interference, offsides, false starts, illegal motion, illegal formation, illegal forward pass, ect?
