re: What is the craziest things that have happened to you

Literally shot and caught a duck that was falling straight towards the blind. I folded him and then thought o shite, this thing is coming right at me, kind of just reaction.

In 08' I was hunting off the white river in Arkansas at a buddies place. There were 3 of us and we were running late due to a heavy night of drinking. Anyway we get to our spot, rush to throw out the decoys and get settled in the blind, about 30 minutes later I look behind us and notice the boat is gone. In the rush my buddy decided forgot to rope the boat to the blind and it was just casually floating away further and further. We were probably 15 yards away from the boat and realized it wasn't getting any closer. We went out to the camp the night before and nobody else was going out til the next night, add in the fact we had no cell coverage and we were hosed. It was extremely cold and freezing rain and I honestly believe we may have died if we had to wait out there over 24 hours. Anyway, the buddy who forgot to tie the boat stripped out of all his clothes and swam after it. Once he reached the boat he was so cold that he could barely drag the boat back. When he reached the blind we laid him down with all of jackets and gear on top of him. That was probably the scariest moment of my life thinking that I was going to watch a good friend of mine freeze to death. After about a 15 minute boat ride back to the launch and a 5 min ride to camp we got him inside. His lips were purple and he was pale white. I have no idea how he didn't suffer from pneumonia or hypothermia but he sat butt naked inside next to the fire place for like 2 hours. Hell he takes pride in it now, but at the time it was definitely scary.

Heading back from a duck hunt one morning at a lake in Kansas I noticed something floating about 100 yards away. As I got closer I noticed it was a set of antlers. Intrigued I headed that way to see what it was. I got my boat about 1 foot away from a 12 point buck that was swimming across a part of the lake. He couldn't do anything and I literally just floated next to him for a while. It was really cool to be that close to a deer in the wild.

Few days earlier a dumbass friend of mine shot a woody and it went down in the water, instead of ringing him or piking him he decided he would punch him...wing bone went through the webbing between his middle and ring finers and into his hand.
