The announcers were mentioning the coaching search. It was down to Houston nutt, Bobby petrino and then Les miles. Was that really the only coaches we went after? I recall trying to get tuberville.

I have a feeling if it was the either of the other 2, they would not still be on the sidelines presently.

I lol'd at this.....

quote:

CITY COUNCIL WEIGHS IN: A resolution introduced by New Orleans Council president Eddie Sapir and passed 6-0 by the council called on LSU officials "to give strong and serious consideration to Louisiana's own (ex-Grambling player/coach) Doug Williams in their search for LSU's next head football coach."
Sapir used to be Williams' adviser.

I remember WJBO announcing Les was hired before the game was played.

According to the Tulsa World, Miles' wife Kathy told someone close to the OSU program, " we're not going anywhere."

That leaves Petrino, 43, as the only confirmed candidate on LSU's list.

I think that quote from Tulsa World just proves that no matter who says what or what insider claims they know what's up... anything can happen in college football recruiting/coaching.

So he would've ditched LSU for the Atlanta Falcons before that national championship season? No thank you

We probably would've ended up with Houston Nutt if Petrino was the hire.

If I had to pick between Les and nutt, gimme Les. Nutt hasn't even won the sec yet.

Nutt may not ever win the state of Mississippi without Dan Mullin leaving.

Best decision Coach Nutt ever made at Arkansas was hiring Gus Malzahn. The worst decision he ever made in his career was running him off.

Reading Joe Dean's comments now makes me realize how we ended up with Curley Hallman and DiNardo & why he only played a "supporting role" in getting Saban.

So Joe Dean has gone into business with the guy who recommended Curley Hallman? And since then, those two have been paid by Miss St to recommend Sylvester Croom and Ole Miss to get Ed Orgeron? I assume their phones have not rung since.
