While I'm not embarrassed by the tralala video (I personally thought it was pretty funny) the manner in which Yell Leaders has changed a bit over time. Used to be a last man standing after a brawl method and is now by popular vote.

And girls can actually run for Yell Leader. One did while I was a student, but I think she managed about a dozen votes.

Yeah makes sense that a public university won't restrict women from running for it. I'm not sure if we'll ever see traditional cheerleaders at games though, although I heard a lot of push for it when I was in UG.
