I can understand why you guys make fun. It's really silly if you think about it but it's also fun.

College football is outright silly. None of us have anything to do with the success or failure of the teams, and many of us didn't even go to the school we root for (not bashing that), but we show up nearly a hundred thousand in force every weekend wearing our colors (sometimes in a ridiculous manner like body paint or corncob helmets) to cheer on complete strangers that we somehow feel connected to on the basis that we paid, along with thousands of others, to attend to the same institution (or we "just always liked the team growing up!"). Nevermind the people that follow the tweets and facebook postings of 15, 16, and 17 year old kids, trying to see if a coach they've never met can convince some kid they've never met to play on their team - and if they do, they rub it in the faces of other fans....as if any fans on either side have anything to do with the outcome.

It's tribalism at its best and I love it all! Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go follow some kid's twitter - he might be signing with A&M!
