i've been to several bowls, but the one that stands out fun wise was the '88 hall of fame bowl in tampa. i separate bowls from NC's because if we aren't playing for the NC i consider the bowl as a vacation type thing where a fan can go and mix with the players and coaches and go to some of the bowl activities. unfortunately, we lost the bowl game because syracuse ran the option and we just did not know how to defense it (i think arnsbarger was our HC). the whole experience was great however and my young family really had a good time. we hung out with the players, cheerleaders, etc on clearwater beach and the game was a reward for a them after a long season. things were not so "money oriented" back then. the LSU players became my sons hero's (he was 6) and they always will be. eddie fuller, tommy hodson and many others, thank you for the memories. it was so cool watching my son going after autographs. he located a group of defensive lineman and approached them for their autograph. they were like giants to a 6 yr old (hell, to me too) and they hung around and played with him and some of the other kids for awhile. LSU runs a great program and our young men represent LSU and themselves with class.

Actually it was Archer's second year. We shared the SEC Title with Auburn oddly enough, lost two OOC games to Ohio St. (blew late lead) and Miami (skulldragged).
The trip must've been fun because the game was horrible. The second worst LSU bowl performance of my lifetime (the '85 Libertly loss to Baylor being the worst).
