After I saw the N.O. food feuds about poboys, I set out for a good one. After researching the f&d board I decided on Acme on Perkins and here I am. Good choice?

The best you'll find in Baton Rouge.

Maxwell's does a great roast beef poboy, just make sure to ask for extra gravy

Only ever ate at the Acme in N.O. Wasn't impressed with the roast beef, too bland, everywhere.(I'm all for messy poboys but none was on the bread.). I'd much rather the shrimp/crawfish/tobasco poboy. The roast beef at Johnny's poboys was much better.
All that was N.O. though. Hopefully your roast beef experience is better.

Got one to-go once. It was ok but it had too much liquid. Yeah it's their ten napkin sandwich but I've had better roast beef with less liquid... but not in Baton Rouge of course.

Not a bad choice...but...
It is too messy (imo). My personal rule for a sandwich is not allow you to eat the inside without making a mess. The bread holds it together.
That's why I like Pocorellos. Next time you get the urge go there.

Rocko's in Baton has a good one as well as Liuzza on Bienville St. in New Orleans

I saw the one with Parkway vs. Domilise's, and Domilise's won... I think that was a shrimp poboy though.

Anytime you are in the Alexandria/Pineville vicinity, go over to Pineville near Louisiana College and get a hot roast beef po-boy from Po-Boy Express. They are hard to beat. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)
