First off - the Citrus Bowl has replaced the natural grass field WITH ARTIFICIAL TURF this year so no need to worry about the field condition. BUT when I saw this photo of the field from last year's Capital One Bowl I had to post it. Have you ever seen a field in that bad of condition? I haven't. Looks like a herd of cattle just moved through after a rain!

I was also at that game. The conditions were a joke (and no, I'm not talking about the weather)

That's a disgrace. That stadium looks like a POS, too.

Wasn't there but watched that game in a bar in NOLA last year and it was evident even on TV the field was in dreadful condition. No excuse for having to play on a field that horrible.

New turf on the field now. Some synthetic shite that's supposed to withstand anything. There was a shitstorm in the local media about how bad the old field made the Crap One look, so they replaced it pretty soon after the game.

Jackass. Pretty sure we were all too cold, wet, and drunk to focus on being "furious"

Wow. My father has 40 or so head of cattle and his pasture doesn't look that terrible. What a joke.

it also took place during every timeout. pepole running on to the field putting turf back where it was supposed to go, then patting it down. needless to say, it didn't work very well

Exactly.
I remember stopages of play being chinese fire drills of the grounds crew scrambling to replace giant chunks of the field

I'm in band and that was the worst field I've ever marched on, high school or college.

Lucky none of the kids did not suffer a major injury. Complete disgrace for an upper-tier bowl game.

Seem like I heard they had played a bunch of HS championship games on it just before. (could be wrong) Either way it was ridiculous to have to have played on that shite.

Which is why in 5 years the payout for the Cap One Bowl will be a fifth of the Cotton. They can get all of the new turf they want. That stadium is a dump.
