It's kind of a no win situation for us.

I mean when we were talking about playing Nebraska or Oklahoma I was excited.

But we are so much better a program than TAMU. So far ahead of them.

I'd rather go back to the Cap One and play MSU.

We might as well be playing Baylor.

Exactly what I was thinking. LSU better turn down the Cotton and try and play someone else. I mean really? LSU wins then of course we were supposed to win against a sucky aTm. We lose..then we get laughed at even more.

I'd love to see the tigahs spank em, but they are used to getting their arses whooped so it won't be as good as beating some other teams.

ummm, TAMU beat the big 12 south and the Big 12 north champs this year.OU and Nebraska. They also beat Ut whom sucks this year but we know where they went last year. just saying. we really cannot afford to overlook anyone. we really can't.you should know better.

So where will the loser of Neb/Okl be going?

I thought the second placed team in the Big 12 usually went to the Cotton. I know it's a matter of revenue and who will bring the most fans, but it seems hosting a Nebraska or Oklahoma would be make for a better bowl game than TAMU.

I just have nothing for the Aggies. Garbage team.

Not overlooking them. And not saying it wouldn't be a good game.

There is just zero excitement or anticipation to play TAMU.

It would be cool to play Nebraska. And another go at Stoops and the Sooners would be exciting as well.

Again, playing TAMU brings about as much excitement as playing Baylor or Kansas.

STUPID POST. good grief man get a grip. The venue in jerryworld is ten times better than that dump the cap one bowl calls a stadium. LSU-TAMU is an old traditional matchup. we had a great rivalry with them in the 80's and 90's. well, ok it was not so great after 88. but it was fun playing them.

It's not a bad bowl. Everything actually is better for Cotton than a Florida bowl except for the opponent.

You can thank Les then for looking unprepared and it looking like the Sugar and Orange Bowls WERE NOT on the line or that important to us. When in FACT they were on the line. WHo woulda known?

COTTON IS NOT A BAD BOWL.

You have the new stadium, it's closer, it gets us used to the place for next year and it's on primetime on a night by itself.

You put Oklahoma or Nebraska as our opponent and it's the next best thing to a BCS game.

I just at the thought of playing TAMU.

Still, I suppose the positives outweigh the negatives.

RETARDED POST. LSU-Tulane is a rivalry, but there is a reason we don't play them anymore. They suck..A&M sucks(in a sense) and I would much rather play in the Cap One bowl again against Michigan State. LSU beats a Co-Big 10 champion speaks more then beating a Big 12 South champion who didn't play for their title.

The Tigers and Aggies haven’t played since 1995. The possibility of their meeting in Arlington has already generated a lot of interest from LSU fans calling into the Cotton Bowl office, Baker said.

“We sense a lot of excitement in this potential pairing (between LSU and Texas A&M),” Baker said.

This is an excerpt from today's Advocate.

I just don't get it. I don't see how LSU fans could be excited about playing TAMU.

I won't be going with my student tickets if it's against them. I'll stay home and watch it on TV. I just don't see it as a good game. I'd be more excited for Nebraska, Oklahoma, Michigan State..

I think it's very important that we win the game - if we do indeed play A&M. We have been one of the reasons that program has been down for the past 10 years (UT's success being the major factor) taking many of their Houston/ Texas recruits. We need to beat the crap out of them to keep that program down so we can keep getting quality recruits from their base area. IF we can win that game then open in Dallas and beat a solid Oregon squad - we can open up Dallas/ Ft. Worth and have a ton of prospects take another look at LSU.
