I have heard that LSU turned down Bobby Petrino.
1. I don't know if this is true or not, but...
2. What you now rather have BP over LM as your coach?

Just a simple question.

Guy took a Red Eye out of Atlanta and the Falcons learned they lost their coach when he was taped leading a Pig Soiue thing on TV.

Answer- No thank you!

But look at what HDN did at Arky and Saban did to LSU, not to mention all the coordinators that do it every year... so let's assume people climb the ladder when they can. BP saw a stepping stone at Arky and left ATL... so what?

I am asking based on the merits of their respective coaching styles.

Petrino = left Falcons in the middle of season to coach Arkansas = quitter

Miles = turned down job at alma matter to coach his damn strong football team = committed

Actually Petrino left the falcons with one game left - a team that had no spot in the playoffs...
And as far as that damn fine team goes... what does that say about Arky and petrino? That they have a damn finer team?

I don't think many would regard Arky as an upgrade over an NFL job. Unless it's the Raiders.

petrino has one good season? and you ask this?

Petrino is nothing special.. He did nothing exceptional at Louisville.. and the same goes for Arkansas..
A BCS game does not equal greatness..
In fact we fire dudes for not winning Natl championships every year.. Peace out Fulmer.. Miles - frick you for winning 2 BCS games (1 being a national championship)..
Urban turn it around or your out Bitch..
Saban... We'll fire you too if you don't beat Auburn next year..

Petrino?? on the outside of the club looking in..
And also has a rep of being a sellout douche..
So - no thanks..

Really?? The same defense that gave up 65 to Auburn??
Come on....
Our offensive ineptitude won the game for you.. Not your defense.

Nutt left Arky because people wanted him gone. Saban left for the NFL, which is actually climbing the ladder. Petrino was sucking it up in the NFL so he decided to go back to college and take a decent job in the best conference. That is not climbing the ladder.

Cool... then he can go back to the big east and be on top again..
Point is.. he's just another coach in the SEC.. one who hasn't accomplished as much as many others.
