id like to think we could handle up on sparty or the huskers.

problem is chavis might play the huskers in prevent while they just slice us with the run all day.

We definitely aren't a lock

Capital One isn't going to take a 4-loss South Carolina team ranked in the 20s.

LSU was there last year. Plus, LSU has lost the two times it's been there. Plus, their fans are bummed to not be going to a BCS game.

Cap One will do everything it can to NOT take LSU.

Alabama is the only legitimate alternative but they're going to be hard pressed to turn down a potentially top-10 ranked LSU team that travels in droves.

I would think the Cap One passes on LSU to take Bama. LSU went last year, Bama is closer and has tons of fans.

Just curious, but are we 100% sure that the Sugar takes Arkansas? Has the Sugar made a statement? They can take 10-2 Arky or 10-2 LSU. They could care less who is ranked higher or who beat who -- they care about $$$. Now Arkansas' fans might be a heck of a lot more motivated to buy tickets than LSU fans.

Ticket sales wouldn't be a problem with either team. Arkansas will sell more hotel rooms and bring more money to the city because they are more likely to stay a few days.

When will the bowls announce teams selected?

I don't understand why LSU isn't automatic for the Cap One. It is supposed to be the #2 SEC, which would be LSU if Auburn goes to the NC and Arky gets the Sugar. I realize that they can choose who they want but if it pays more than the Cotton, then the bowl subcommittees shouldn't get to decide.

If LSU had 2 more wins than the next best SEC team, they would be forced to take us, but otherwise they choose. It makes more sense for the Cap One to take Bama since we went last year and Bama is closer.

LSU hasn't been to the Cotton since 2002 and they would love to have LSU.

Makes sense. I hope they go to the Cotton so I can go to the game.
