He not only taught Luis Mendoza how to stop, he substituted Russ Tyler in for Goldberg but in typical Gordon Bombay fashion he disguised Tyler as Goldberg without anyone noticing in order to get the game tying knucklepuck shot. Also in his infinite wisdom he knew to substitute Julie "the cat" Gaffney in for Goldberg to face Gunner Stahl, he also knew that Gunner would go gloveside because in Gordan's words he was "fancy."
