Sure could use a scorer off the bench right now.

When Paul goes out the offense looks lost. Thornton (cough, cough)

get your d up and he can get out there

GTFO we shot 30% and got 16 points that quarter. no matter how bad his defense is he could have given us some life during that stretch or right now.

100% in agreement

I'm pretty sure Thornton matches up better with Eric Gordon than Belly Nelly.

has there been much d since the 1st?
Posted on 11/22/10 at 11:54 pm to carnuba

Marcus is too busy painting Monty's house and waxing his car to play basketball right now. You don't get to use the Crane Kick until you have mastered Wax On, Wax Off.

We're winning without Thornton.
Nevermind that we just lost to the 1-13 Clippers without their only all-star. We beat them at home without Thornton. And that's more important.
Forget that our best win came when he played 31 minutes. Don't pay attention to the way he played against Denver. Those games don't matter.
What matters is that we can beat a 5 win Cleveland without him. Or Portland without Roy. Or the Clippers(as long as Gordon doesn't play).
That's what it's about!

You act like people are happy that he's not playing. What we are happy about is the general strategy of the team. That combined with Monty's reputation for improving players let me give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
Would Thornton really have made that much impact last night.
Willie Green 18:21 4/7 shooting
Jarret Jack 16:12 4/8 shooting
Quincy Pondexter 6:21 1/1 shooting
That's some pretty efficient offense. Belinelli had an off game on offense, but I assume since he got so many minutes he must have been adequate on defense. Did you get to watch the game? How was his defense?

It wasn't about shooting, it was about energy. Belinelli was sleepwalking. Ariza and Paul came out with a ton of energy. But after the first quarter, nobody played with any energy.
The same thing happened against the bucks on the road. We ended up winning a close game, but it was like we were sleeping until the last 5 minutes.
Whether he's making shots or not, Thornton is always a jolt of energy. To not use him on nights like that is just being stubborn to a fault.

Yeah I'm getting tired if that play better D crap. He is in the doghouse like keiland Williams. No excuse he should have played and would have given us a shot to win while Paul was on the bench

nobody expected to be 11-2 , and Monty isn't perfect....when you jumble up the pieces sometimes this can happen. It was probably a mistake not to play Thornton....the clippers might be 1-13 , but they are a good offensive team and are capable of winning games....but all of this you know because you seem like a smart guy.

I nominate you to take over head coach for Monty since you know more than him, dude. You seem like a pretty smart guy.

I have much more faith in Monty than I do in MT5. Marcus will play when he understands where to be and what to do on D.
Posted on 11/23/10 at 2:22 pm to mm2316
I am surprised that Marcus hasn't gotten more of an opportunity lately. But I have to think that Monty knows what he's doing. Not saying he's infallible, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Thornton probably could have provided a spark on the offensive end, but he would have given up just as many points on the defensive end by playing bad man to man, being out of place, missing his assignmnts, etc etc.

Which was.....a road half of a back-to-back. They are hard for a reason.
