Scared the shite out of me until an airport staff informed me they were filming Battle Los Angeles.
isn't it a bit funny and ironic when the name of a movie specifies a specific city and they film it 3000 miles away in a place that has very little if any similarities to said place? I mean it's like Battle: New York City filmed in Odessa Texas.

I was living in Spanish Town when they were filming this movie. Lots of explosions and it was a very elaborate production. There's a shot of the state capitol in the trailer.
One scene shows the Mississippi River Bridge, a downtown garage, and also some spots in North BTR. They did a surprising amount of scenes under the interstate by downtown, which can be seen in this clip as well.

It's a little crazy, but I can understand it. The architectural style of L.A. and Baton Rouge are surprisingly similar. Even from a design point of view when looking at the plant palette they share a lot in common.
My girlffriend's stepdad own some land down on the river by the old leper colony in Carville. They will be shooting a part of Battleship there here soon. They're doing a beach invasion scene along the river. Should be interesting to see how they pull it off. I'll be down there snapping pictures, so I'll keep yall posted.
That day out at the airport I really thought shite was going down. Foreign attack. Aliens. It all went through my head.
I don't expect the Battle LA to be the best, but I will probably be entertained by the explosions. That's all I hope for.
