No it isn't! If LSU wins out it is about 50/50 in your scenario.

I'm an LSU fan. LSU is my first and foremost concern. I want what's best for LSU, and what's best for LSU is an SEC championship.

I root for the SEC, but the SEC is certainly secondary in my pecking order of "things I'm rooting for."

I wouldn't mind the Sugar Bowl, esp. since I already have tickets.

I'm ok with that scenario. We're good with flaws; I don't like our chances against Oregon this season.

If the question was- would you rather we WIN the NC, or WIN the Sugar with Auburn and Oregon playing for it all, I want LSU to win the title of course.

I also have my Sugar tix, so I'm being selfish and playing it safe. I concede we won't win it all this year, and I would rather sit in the Dome (which would be Tiger Stadium South) and take my chances against TCU or Boise, and come out happy, than look at the TV and watch us slowly but surely give up 50 to the Ducks.

If we get a present handed to us on the final day in the polls, I definitely change my mind and sell those seats

If auburn lost two and we went to the seccg and won and won out, our chances should be better than 50/50 that we get in. Some of it would depend on pollsters and whether they give alot of votes to TCU rather than us.

about 50/50?

I'm going to argue its at least 49/51 - and that's "unlikely".

Are you going to argue that we have a better than 50/50 shot if this scenario happens (i.e..'likely")?

So basically just asked if fans would want their team in the national title or their rivals in it?

The word "unlikely" has connotations much lower than 50%. But I would take 49%.

And yes, I would say LSU has a 51+% chance in that scenario.

I just look at this from an LSU (realistic) perspective; in that I don't see UGA beating Auburn no way no how. So maybe I misread it; but my point of view is- if Auburn is undefeated going into the Iron Bowl, I hope they win out, and I want them to take down Florida and Oregon, and us to go to (and win) the Sugar.
