Lost to Ron Zook played Hootie in SECCG. #3 finish.
Not that impressive. 8 years ago too, older than LSU's rustoleam ready, 2003 split MNC.

I'd love just one win over of team that is sure to finish ranked at the end of the year.
Mississippi State, Florida and North Carolina all have a pretty good shot.

That's the problem with Les and his coaching style. No one understands what he does, or what value he provides
Again, speak for yourself.
I for one find a LOT of value in Mr. Miles and what he brings to the team/program/CFB.

That, combined with his mind numbing communication

It's up to Les to define himself, and he doesn't.
He's pretty comfortable with himself from what I can tell and I'm not sure it maters one iota what you think...

Bungling the end of games defines Miles.

Why is it that every game of every year is said to be his "defining" year?
He is what he is. Furthermore, regardless of what happens in any single game, it won't change perception of Miles from any angle. It just means that the NEXT big game will be the defining game.

But I thought the Fl game defined Miles.??

The fact that Miles has YET to be defined is what defines Miles.

Miles, then, can be equated to art.

When a defining moment comes along, you either define the moment or the moment defines you~Tin Cup

That's about right. While some people see a priceless work of art, most people see a splattered painting with no direction or purpose.

he's definitely abstract.

If Miles had accomplished his current record from ground zero (where Gerry DiNardo or even Nick Saban did), I'd be impressed.
But to date, I'm not.
if Miles were as bad as some believe, the program would have cratered by now in year 6...not to say he doesn't have his issues or challenges to keep it going. Frankly I think you'd spin your way out of being impressed regardless of where the program stood right now.

Les Miles' job is secure regardless of what happens tomorrow. He'll beat Ole Miss and ULM and finish with no worse than a 9 win season and a good bowl game. You don't pay 15 million to buy out a winning coach regardless of how lucky or dumb he is.

Les Miles is a Jackson Pollock painting? Cool.

Just gotta call it like I see it. There is a lot I like about Les Miles, such as his super affable personality, and you just know he's a genuine good guy. But on the coaching side of the equation, my confidence wanes with each passing game (no pun intended).
I will re-evaluate my evaluation of him should LSU beat Alabama.
But to me, tomorrow's game is an absolute must win for him.

It was supposed to be. But now in hindsight it's not a big deal. Much like if we beat Bama tomorrow and they lose to Auburn later in the year suddenly it won't be that big of a deal.
Miles, in spite of winning 78% of the time, can't win in this town. When we lose it's all Miles fault yet when we win it's in spite of Miles and based on our "talent" which I guess just randomly chose to attend LSU because of our pretty team colors.
We have "LSU fans" that denigrate the NC in 2007 because it was with 2 losses in this town.

Les Miles silences the critics (including me) for a while by a) winning plus b) doing it in a fashion that shows he actually had something to do with the win,
I am so sick of hearing this crap......
#1- He will never silence the crtics no matter what he does.
#2- One slip up and you will be calling for his head again even if we win 31-0 on Saturday
I have heard this "defining game crap" over 10 times now. Usually we win but sometimes we don't.
You people need to get a grip.
You don't like him and never will. I am cool with that. I am not a Les die hard. We did worse than Les for many years. Losing to UAB and getting crushed by Bama at home 31-0 was tough.
