When in public I think that it is important to be respectful of those around you. Standing at a Tiger game does not seem disrespectful at all unless you are just standing there for no good reason or just to be a general nuisance.

Angry bastards running rampant in the stadium. Just stay at home you bring nothing to the table but a few extra bucks in the TAF coffers.

Yet they are the ones that get on here and bitch about us "kids" not knowing shite about football and not supporting the team.

i agree with you and i'm over age 40 (and 50 and 60). hell, might not even be able to stand up 10 yrs from now. life has so many problems. they need to be standing their arse up if they want to see. you have a right to stand up and they have a right to sit down.

Depends on who's winning.

Of course, one can be just as loud sitting as standing so if someone behind you doesn't want to have to stand to see over you then you should take that into consideration.

To be clear I'm not advocating standing up like you're in the student section for the sake of standing. But there are a lot of times to stand during a football game, and there is generally at least one guy, 40-60, that loses his shite and threatens to get the marshals. Those frickers are terrible.

If I see you mixing a drink, or smoking, I'm calling the marshal over too.
No fun policy, in full effect.

I just don't understand how & why this is even a topic of conversation. This is a football game you are going to, it is a sporting event-NOT the opera. There are 90+ thousand people sitting in a bowl all trying to see the same thing. The people who sit closest to the field have to stand b/c the players, officials, ball boys, media, kicking net, etc are all in front of them. If they have to stand, the folks behind them do to, that is unless you can persuade the the players, officials, ball boys, media, kicking net, etc to sit down & clear the view. If someone doesnt' like standing for a game, then sit down & watch the game on the jumbotron or stay home. If I can't see, I WILL stand up. When there is a critical moment, I WILL stand up. To the person who is erked by this, too frickin bad, stay home & SIT DOWN in your recliner & watch the game, leave the stadium for the people with a pulse who choose to "get into" the game & choose to afford themselves the best view of the game.

Standing and cheering for a good play or critical time is fine, ill satnd too. But if you are like that visiting jerk from OHIO who stood "cause this is how we do it" including during a frickin tv timeout.........NO, that just plain prickish, besides save a little energy so you can yell louder if needed.

I have no problem with people standing if everyone is standing. If you are the only one standing, then i have problem and i'm under 40.
if you are the only one standing, maybe it isn't the guy yelling at you. maybe it's you.

Sit in the east upper where its full of quiet, boring old fricks who sit during the game.
Every week there is a select few that get REALLY upset when they sit behind me and my friends, because we stand the entire game, and make as much noise as we can.

I'm over 40 and I was yelling at all the old stiff bastards around me during the Tennessee game to stand their asses up or at least make a sound so we'll know not to call the coroner. East side, lower section between the the two 25 yeard lines should be declared legally dead or mute!

Standing at a football game is a right of every American
And what would you miss during the tv timeout?
