Sorry to throw my 2 cents in, but Dan is correct on this one.

It was Newton's first big game and his first road game.

Our coaches weren't sure how he'd react. Our game plan was kept extremely simple and conservative.

The 3rd quarter against Kentucky might be a better place to look. Although we had more confidence in Newton by then, we failed to execute in the third quarter. That was in large part due to our own mistakes, but Kentucky's defense played a part I'm sure.
