LSU wins out, which is still possible. Auburn loses to Bama. And Auburn goes on to lose to one of the 3 loss teams in the east in the SEC championship. LSU would have the best record in the SEC. Would they deny a 1 loss LSU because they didn't go to the SEC championship from playing in the BCS? And would we not be able to play in the Sugar because some 3 loss east team gets it? I just can't see the BCS passing up on an LSU who had one loss to the right now number one team in the country. Thought? Im just wondering what would happen in this scenario?

dude, we have to win out for any of that to happen.... It's going to take a miracle for us to win out. We still have the best team on our schedule left.

We will not win out, but if we lose only 2 and win our bowl game that would be highly successful.

Do you know nothing about how they select the Sugar Bowl teams?

Quick example:

2007=> LSU plays UT for the SEC title. LSU wins, and has an automatic pick into the Sugar Bowl. However, the BCS NCG gets LSU so then the Sugar Bowl still needs to get a SEC team to fill the spot left. UT, the Eastern Champion, did not get to play in that game. Instead UG, the second highest rank SEC school played for the SEC.

No east team will play in the sugar bowl, unless they win the conference.

If LSU wins out, and Auburn has 2 losses, we go to the SEC CG, simple. If we win that game, we would have a shot at going to the BCSCG.

But I don't see us winning the rest of our games, I think we lose to Bama and Arky.

We would have to win-out, have AU lose 2 games, and win the SEC Championship, to have a chance at the NC. We probably won't beat Bama and Arky, so thats probably out.

In that scenario, LSU would be playing in the SEC championship. 2 loss Auburn, 2 loss Alabama, 1 loss LSU. LSU represents the West.

Obama will win '12 in a landslide and Denardo will be hired at Bama or and Terry Bowden at Auburn to pick up the pieces after both schools lose every game for the rest of the year.

Just wanted my response to be as realistic as the question.

10-2 for Auburn (losses to Bama and an SECE team)
10-2 for Bama (losses to USCe and LSU)

LSU would go to the SEC Championship game since they have the best record in the West at 11-1

But I think you are asking is what if Aubie loses to an SECE team in the BCSCG...then Aubie would probably go to the NCG and the Sugar Bowl would take an 11-1 LSU over the SECE team..ala UGA is 07

Honestly, I was impressed with Auburn. Our receivers could not get as open as they should. Their defensive line controlled our line. Our D line did not get penetration.

Lets face it, they are not going to loose 2 games. I hope they win it all. More SEC teams to win the MNC.

He's asking what if Auburn loses to say Bama (So they would have 1 sec loss) and goes on to play SEC champ against east team. Meanwhile, LSU wins out and so has 1 SEC loss (But of course Auburn still goes to SEC champ due to tie-breaker.)

THEN he's saying what if Auburn losses to the SEC east representative in SEC champ? (Which would give them 2 losses) Now your looking at SEC east 3 loss team as autmatic bid in Sugar Bowl and LSU as the only remaining 1-loss SEC team.

My best guess unless an absolute miracle happened (read lsumatt's post on what would have to happen for that miracle to make MNC) would be LSU would receive an at-large BCS bid to either Orange bowl or regular fiesta bowl (not MNC played a week later). This would be due to the fact that LSU would be the only 1-loss SEC team and they would be considered the most attractive SEC team at that point.

Of course we all agree the first miracle would be winning out the rest of year in the first place, I'm just trying to answer the OP's question which I think everybody kind of missed what he was really asking.

The best example is what ALMOST happened in 06 when everybody (including baton rouge's favorite news) was saying LSU would be in an AT-large bid invite to rose bowl against Michigan. LSU would have been most attractive 2-loss team in SEC and had already beaten arkansas.

The thinking was Florida would be automative bid for Sugar and we would get at-large invite to Rose. Of course USC had to screw things up for us and gift Florida with MNC, reverting us back to at-large bid to Sugar. Similar situation would happen this year (only 1-loss LSU instead of 2 loss like 06).

The winner of the SECCG would go to the Sugar Bowl, unless they are in the top 2 of the BCS, then they would play in the National Championship Game.

If AU were to lose to Bama and then lose the SECCG AND LSU wins out, then it would be possible for LSU to play in a BCS game. However, it wouldn't be the Sugar Bowl.

Stranger things have happened (2007?). First LSU must win out. Nothing else matters if they don't. Just like last year, the D should keep us in every game, but can our offense score?

While AU looks untouchable right now, the fact remains that their D is still suspect (they only looked like '85 Bears against LSU). If a team can keep up with them offensively, then a turnover here or there could make things interesting. Ole Miss and UGA seem to have offenses that CAN score. If thier D's can make just a few plays, then you never know.
