ETA: This is the response you'd get from any coaches show regardless of who the HC was.

quote:

1) How do you explain the decline of the program at a precipitous rate from the upper echilon of the SEC? to more of a "middle of the pack team"

Thanks for your call, McLovin, I can't say that I agree with your assessment of LSU being middle of the pack. Our current SEC record is 4-1 and we just lost a hard fought game on the road to a very good Auburn team by 7. Cam Newton is a special player who is the odds on favorite to win the Heisman this year.

We finished in the top 25% of the league last year finishing third behind a Alabama team that we went toe to toe with and a Florida team that had arguably the best player in the history of the game.

We are still ranked in the top 10% of the D1 teams in the country so your "middle of the pack" comment seems well...ridiculous.

quote:

2) Based on JJ's statistical woes and lack of points produced as the leader of this offense, how can you justify him being in the game, regardless of if he is in in a package situation.

If you watched the game yesterday, JJ did some damage with the read option. He does still have a tendency to hold the ball too long on the pass but he has a want to improve and we are going to spend the next two weeks working hard and preparing for an excellent Alabama team. Lee continues to work hard but struggled against Auburn especially after his injury.

quote:

3)Why is the offensive scheme that you have in place not tailored to the players that you have recruited? Would you take responsibility for what is seemingly a lack of adjustment on the coaches part over your tenure?

JJ ran the spread at Destrehan and led them to a state title. He still learning to play at this level but I gotta tell you nobody wants to win as much as him. As head coach, I'm responsible for everything that happens on this team, good or bad, as I've said before.

Thanks for listening.

I say that I agree with my assesment, and at least half of the fanbase does as well. You lose to the good teams (Bama and Florida last year, Aubie this year) when we used to be that good team, that team that everyone looked up to and wished that they could be, even Bama and Florida, and now it seems like an upset when we beat these teams, FAIL

You finished in the top 25%? Thats one win better than Tennessee was last year, top 10% of D1 teams, yea, so did boise, where did they finish in recruiting the last few years?

Your interviews, Mr. Miles....are ridiculous, as well as your offense

JJ did damage on the zone read, but he had his plays that made my brain almost explode as well. Until I see him successfully make reads at the college level, I have no faith in him. And being that you have two weeks to prepare, didnt you have two weeks to prepare for Auburn? Because I doubt you put a full week in for McNeese. We will see how you come out guns a blazing in two weeks.

JJ obviously did not run too complex of a scheme at destrahan, because he has some serious trouble making reads in the passing game. Maybe you should spend a little more time with him trying to explain to him his progressions. And you do not act responsible, remember ole miss last year, yea, way to throw your player under the bus. And I think JJ should have the position down path by now, for gods sake, he is through 3 1/2 years in this offense
