I have been very confident about our chances against auburn. But sitting here this morning and thinking about it, i am cautiously optimistic.

Sure, we should have pounded WVA to oblivion, we should of taken florida to the woodshed. We could of easily had 2 more touchdowns in both of those games. But we didn't. Just like every other game, it's always something that prevents us from reaching our potential. Fumbles, int's, penalties what ever. And add to that our HORRIBLE qb situation and the fact that miles will run the ball into the teeth i just don't feel good about this game like i was the past couple days. I don't know what it is, but something always prevents us from being what we could be on offense.

Add to that, that we really don't have any signature wins and we really have not played anyone. Auburn has wins over s carolina and arky. Those 2 are probably upper tier teams right now in the sec and the only other teams that are playing better then them is alabama. I mean kentucky is also turning out to be a pretty good team.

Who have we beat? FLorida? Believe it or not, Miss state is our best win to date this year. I really believe we are a great team. But i am afraid our offense will be so inconsistent, it will leave our defense on the field and gassed. Then newton will break huge chunks of yards.

THis is that hardest game to predict EVER.

Our chances of success fall on the % of playing time JLee gets. The more he plays the more points we score. Our Defense will play lights out but the offense needs to pick it up and the consistent chance of that happening is JLee...

Do any of you expect les to handle the qb situation well? I don't. He defies logic when everything points to the logical, i do not and cannot understand what goes on between his ears. Sure, we can all just say
"our d will play lights out" and i believe that up until the point where they have not played a offense near auburns or even close to it.

I haven't even got to the officiating or the fact we are playing in jordan hare. I will just leave that alone.

I feel you Dreaux. Our D is good but they have not been tested the way they will be by Newton. And Miles is just stubborn enough to come out trying to run against a defense that is selling out to stop the run. Crowton will have to employ more screens and quick routes that only Lee can execute. If JJ starts then LSU will be in a hole early.

You are a nut. Come back down to earth. Auburn is not unbeatable...neither are we. Both teams have significant flaws along with the elite aspects of the team.

It is going to take a good game to beat them. It has always been that way. You had no basis for your over confidence. Now the pendulum is swinging way too far the other way.

It is exciting and fulfilling to win in the SEC because it is so difficult. Embrace it.

Arkansas just gave up 65 in regulation to a one-man offensive unit. They are not upper tier. SCarolina beat an Alabama team that simply is not as good as it was last season.

If LSU plays well offensively (lets Lee play most of the snaps), we should beat Auburn. Of course, that was a sizable if...

This is a good matchup for us. If our defense is as good as we think, we whouldn't need to score too many...and their defense is just what our struggling offense needs.

I think Newton is much harder to stop and better than Tebow was. He will fall forward for 5 yards.

I think our defernse will slow him down but we wont stop him. Our offense HAS to show up to win this game.

Sadly, I think this game is very easy to predict.

JJ will start and lead 50-60% of the drives, with a couple turnovers and mostly 3 and outs.

AU will get 2 cheap TDs because they will have an incredibly short field.

Newton will Lead AU on 2 sustained TD drives, otherwise the defense plays pretty well.

JL leads LSU to 2 TDs and a FG, and turns it over once. Th offense moves well and sustains drives while he is in. In the end, however, JL isn;t on the field enough and LSU loses 28-17.

It is really that simple.

this is what i mean. Miles seems at times to do the exact opposite of what makes sense. THe only thing he has not touched is the defense, and that is turning out very well.

Micheal ford would have a field day on that swiss cheese D of auburn especially on the edges but he may get 4 or 5 carries the entire game. Every other coach in america would have him in a one two rotation with ridley and JJ on the bench. Our offense has way to much potential to be rated in the 80's and 90's. If he played it right we should be in the 30's and 40's at least.

But no that all makes to much sense. And before someone says that "we don't see what he does at practice" is misinformed. It's bullshite. It's clear lee is a better qb and ford has the best moves and speed out of all our running backs. No dis to ridley he is a beast, but ford has the breakaway speed and can slash (and he is powerful as well)

Back in 2006, LSUs super team and QB against Auburn we ran the ball 3 yards and a cloud of dust when JMRussell would have cold cocked Auburn with the passing game if allowed too and L. Miles admitted this after the game. This Sat. Jefferson will complete TD passes like he did last year against Auburn and Penn. State. QBjLee will drive LSU down the field for TD and several field goals. Defense does not like playing running jitterbug Auburn QB but will still do well enough as LSU wins the game!

i know. Everyone wants to believe something that is contrary to everything that we have seen. I saw miles in his press luncheon monday, and he actually said that jefferson should play because of how well he played auburn last year. How in the hell does that even make sense?? What coach says shite like that? REally i want to know.

what make you believe this?? Cause of a game last year? Jesus man, he couldn't do shite against mcneese and has had more three and outs this year then any qb i can ever rememeber.

Lee has shown just the opposite and should be the undisputted leader and qb. But that is not going to happen. Everyone has been waiting for JJ to have a break out game. Seriously he has not done it and what makes you thing he will do it now?? This is the biggest game i can remember since 2007, and you would want to take that risk? It doesn't make sense? Lee has done nothing but score touchdowns. With JJ we might as well just punt it on first down and covert our RB's to linebackers.

I know this, the chiz is hoping that miles plays JJ. I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT. How sas is that?

reality is LSU could very possible wind up 8-4, 9-3 being more likely. people keep sugar coating LSU's wins with this "we beat 2 teams from BCS conferences" bullshite. we BARELY be UNC's junior varsity team and struggled against an average WVU, not to mention we had to come back (after leading by 12) and beat a very VERY medicore Florida team. a win in the swamp is always great, but LSU didn't do anything Mississippi State couldn't do. why did LSU look so bad against a TERRIBLE Tennessee team.....needing a play after regulation to win? why did LSU look so bad against a community college caliber McNeese team? LSU has a great defense, but does not have a great team. the problems are GLARING, but are being overlooked due to the "fools gold" 7-0 start. it looks really pretty now, but will be exposed as a fake later on......just like Les Miles.

i am not worried about this game at all really. we are going to beat AU pretty convincingly (although the scoreboard might not reflect that ala UF)

your feeling may change tomorrow. we all go thru ups and downs about big games like this. however, if miles and co. continually try to run the ball against the teeth of their D and it's not working, i'm gonna get depressed like hell. now, if it works, i'll freely admit i was wrong but i don't think we win doing that, not until auburn respects our passing.

key to winning this game is to not turn the ball over and make sustained drives which result in points
