It's time for a playoff

It makes me sick listening to these diva talking heads blabbering about what they think and this should be decifered like this or that. This sport is too great not to have a playoff. It's way past due. And I know it may never happen. But I wish there was some way to knock some sence into the NCAA and espn.

The sick thing is that they are wasting their time talking. There are 10-15 different teams that have a shot at playing for the national championship. None of those teams are Boise State or TCU.
These conversations do not even need to take place until the end of the season. It'd also be nice to not have polls until after the regular season. It would take away a lot of the crap like Ohio State being number one, or Oklahoma being number one currently.

yeah i don't see what the point of having a BCS poll after 7 games is. it really serves no purpose other than giving the espn talking heads something to run a primetime special on

I agree in principle, but let's not forget that it was this same BCS system that gave us the opportunity to win 2 BCS National Championships this decade without having to fight through a playoff series, where anything can happen. Is a playoff more fair? Sure, most likely. But LSU fans should be the last ones to be bitching about it.

then college will be just like the NFL I cant stand the NFL till the playoffs, u take away the drama although i think the BCS needs to be cleaned up a little

If LSU doesn't make it to the BCS NCG, I pray that Boise St. does. It would ensure a playoff sooner than later.

a playoff is going to kill the insanity and fun that is the regular season of college football. Heck, every major entity involved will lose money solely based on how the significance of regular season games will diminish.
Don't fool yourself. There aren't that many people who can make a difference that want a playoff. There's just a lot of people who want controversy because controversy makes them money.

i'm not a fan of having a playoff. it takes away from the regular season. the only thing i think would be alright is a +1 after all the bowl games have been played

what happens when you only have 2 undefeated teams and they play in the bowl games? why should the team that wins that game have to win a +1 game???
If anything, there should be a system in place that only allows plus 1 or whatever based on stipulations. If there's a clear cut champion after bowl games, another game isn't needed. Having a plus 1 game just to have one will be much worse for the system than not.

yeah that's pretty much what i mean. i think what they should do is go back to what the original bowl tie ins were before the bcs, and add one more game for at large teams from non-bcs conferences. play all those games, and then the top 2 teams after all that should play in the title game
