Lb. for lb. Who is tougher & Better than Tyrann Mathieu

He eats nails for breakfast. He has barbwire for lunch. He is the ultimate ballhawk. He creates turnovers just because he can. He should be All-Conference Defensive Freshman of the year and All Conference.

He is trying really hard to become one of my favorite Tigers of all time.
Still so early in his career but I don't know that anyone has ever gotten off to such a good start.

Mathieu thinks he is the next Craig Steltz or something. He's playing fantastic defense and is bringing the wood.

Kid's a stud.
I know we all just joke about how things shape up for LSU winning the BCS every time it's in New Orleans (next year), which they have done the past 2 times, BUT:
next year we likely lose Peterson but I'd say we lose nothing on the field with Mathieu taking his place at CB, other than just the height difference- and that's not a knock on Peterson!

I have to admit, at the beginning of the season I had to ask some friends "Who the frick is this Mathieu kid?" He's ALWAYS in on the play. Reminds me so much of Craig Steltz.
