finally see the Darren Sharper effect? I know Porter is down, but Greer hasn't exactly been sharp, Darren with his cheating or jumping of QB passes gave them a extra step that is missing now, so it wasn't all Porter and Sharper like some folks dared to say last year!

I would add the PT and Bush effect. Betts on the screen doesn't produce the same results.

yes, I agree, Betts is a solid RB, but you are right, he is not Bush or PT, all Brees had to do is flip it to Reggie and he would scamper 25 yards downfield in the blink of an eye!

The one interesting stat that dates back to the start of 2009 is that we are undefeated when Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter both start and play a whole game... Our defense played well yesterday... And while I think Malcolm has done a good job back there, I can't wait until Sharp gets back. But Malcolm will be solid once he's got more experience under his belt

the start of 2009 Sharp jumped a whole lot of QB passes for the INT's, partly I agree because of Porter and Greer, but the playmaking ability is missing in the secondary right now!

yeh I agree. But without Greer and Porter in the lineup, it forces Sharper to play more pass coverage instead of roaming free, which makes him more vulnerable. But we have to start getting more pressure on the QB. We've done a pretty good job the past 2 games but we need to get better.

Our defense is playing well. Jenkins is hustling and playing his arse off. If you think sharper will just walk on the field and play like last year, you're a damn fool. Greer has been holding his own. I don't know what you're seeing. The offense is turning the ball over and stalling in the red zone. Not much of a running game to speak of. Those are the major issues here. The defense is still playing hard despite being depleted. The offense, not so much.

I see your point, but do you realize it was Max Hall at QB? We should have won that game.

who said Sharper would walk on the field and do what you just said, especially comin off a serious knee injury, honestly, whodat, just when I thought you had your head screwed on right!
but you are right about Jenkins playin solid, but the difference I'm tryin to get people to see is he is not a playmaker like Sharper is!

Max Hall had no business doing what he did yesterday!

yes, PA, it was Max frickin Hall, even playin Les Miles style football we should have still one, but with Reggie and PT gone, especially Reggie, teams can play the Saints honestly now!

It's not like Hall shredded us... We held him to less than 200 yards passing... Our offense accounted for 14 of their points and they scored a TD on a fluke play
Posted on 10/11/10 at 10:32 am to swagsurfin7
no he didn't, your right, it's just it's that me and Paul Allen sayin it's a Rookie QB that should not be beating us! We should have had him in Panic Mode all evening!

The defense played very well yesterday, it is the offense that are making these games so close, arizona only have 194 total yards yesterday. The defense is what is keeping them in games and the lack of offense are making these games too close.

yeah, I can see that point also, but I mostly just started this thread about the Sharper TO effect, how some people last year kind of undermined his effect!

but Greer hasn't exactly been sharp
No shite. He's had his problems so far this season and has been beaten a little too often. Now this may not happen if he didn't have to help on run support in a couple of games or if he had Sharper behind him.
