Deep Ball ????

Why are we not throwing the deep ball ??? One deep pass yesterday = TD to Meachem.... I know the O-line isn't playing well, Drew has hurt knee, and our receivers can't catch a fricking cold rite now.... BUT frick.... Stretch the field, open up the playbook.... Henderson and Meachem have to step up !!! Hopefully the return of a running game soon will help....

yeah, we've been seeing this lack of deep passes going back to preseason. Devery dropped one a game or so ago.

I was at the game last week against Carolina... They pretty much played a "prevent" type defense with their 2 safeties last week... John Fox said that the gameplan was to keep everything underneath... Teams will continue to do that until we can run the football effectively and force them to bring the safeties up and respect the run, which will set up the deep ball better

Defenses are keying in on the pass and Brees doesn't have time to throw it. We'll see more deep ball when we get a running game that defenses have to account for.

Yes that's what I was saying... That's why you're only seeing the underneath throws for about 4-5 yards...

Are Brees and Colston on the outs? I'm so confused as to why they are not hooking up across the middle or even down the field. All these dink passes to the RBs are killing me. :donewithrant:

I've noticed that Drew, who normally has a pretty quick release, is having trouble finding an open receiver. We really need the fricking run and short pass game to start eating teams up.
