Saw this clip fo the '07 game v. FLorida and it got me wondering: they went 5-for-5 on fourth down conversions, meaning they really had to scrape to get back into the game and win. Was his crazy just working then and he was still a porr game manager or has he really digressed?

crazy just worked...he had a qb with a football iq as well as leaders on both sides of the ball. It also didnt hurt that he had the most talented team in the nation hands down. Bo helped out a lot too

See Kentucky and Ark 2007.

He shouldn't even have a national title. He choked it away against Ark in 2007.

Also helped that Jacob Hester could run through a wall that night

It did seem like he had more ballz back then.

Also, his decision to stick with Jacob Hester at RB (despite MANY people bitching about it at first) payed off more than probably any other coaching move he ever made at LSU.

I would have preferred Florida over Georgia in the SEC CG. Georgia would have put a beat down on us. We were running on fumes at that point.

i honestly think he got fat off the money were paying him. just like pro athletes get paid and their production slips. i think he got complacent after a national title.

my oh my how things have changed in 3 short years...seems just like yesterday. we were worried about playing UGA in the sec championship and now look at where both head coaches are for those two schools.

No.

He rolled the roulette wheel and but it all on red, and lucked out.

Kentucky game should have never gone to OT. I remember for example i think it was Dickson or the backup tight end that dropped a guaranteed TD in the end zone and that game changed after that drop. Arkansas was brutal. It was like Jones and Mcfadden was on something that day. I never seen them play like that before in college. And i remember the refs calling back i think a Jacob Hester TD that game. That game was exhausting. By the time we went to OT with Arkansas, i think the team was on fumes.

And yes every gamble that Les did worked that year. It was our year, like the Saints last year. I kinda wish he turned into that riverboat gambler again. I miss him taking chances. Every great once in a while he may. But that year it seemed like he was always taking chances and it worked.

His crazy still lost 2 games that year and one of those fourth downs the ball should have been spotted about a yard shy of the first down.
