It is one thing to be upset by what we saw Saturday (and have been seeing for some time from our offensive coaches). It is fine to be critical. That is what fans do. I'm no sunshine pumper. But, it is another thing to openly mock, ridicule, and bash LSU coaches and players to the point that the opinions of opposing fans are milder than those who claim to be Tiger fans.

I get being frustrated. But, it is almost like some people are wanting us to lose and are laughing about every negative article written. Some people are happier that they were right about Miles than they would be if we were winning right now. Oh wait - we are winning. The level of rhetoric is so high now, it is almost like people will disappointed if we beat Florida, Auburn, Alabama, or Arkansas. At some point, this level of criticism crosses over from the warranted criticism from a frustrated fanbase to the actions of those who have actually set themselves up against the LSU football program in the short term.

I also get that many want to tear down LSU football now so that we get rid of Miles and have longer-term success with a competent coach. But, at the same time, we have young men right now who are wearing the Purple and Gold and who are fighting their guts out everyday to win football games. Isn't there a way to voice our frustrations without also tearing down the entire football team and coaching staff repeatedly?

We need some balance and perspective right now, believe it or not. Miles has his flaws, but he is still LSU's coach and we are 5-0 and ranked in the top 10 headed to Florida. Maybe we can express a bit of optimism that something good might happen this weekend. I think we're due.

A great number of LSU fans feel personally offended by the play of the Tigers as though each of the fans has a personal stake in how the game is played/won. To those people, I say, "Grow up!:

Not happy, but my life is more like a joker laugh because I'm so frustrated that its become funny! :banghead: :banghead:

I get it. The position of LSU fans now is to live in constant fear of losing a game so that nothing can be enjoyed ever until said loss occurs so that some can say, "I TOLD YOU SO!!!"

I see the problems with these coaches and with this team. I almost had a stroke on Saturday. But, at some point, we have to actually cheer for LSU again instead of just being mad all the time because we aren't winning games by more points than we are.

I'm hopeful that we beat Florida. Last time I wasn't hopeful that we would win a game was in 1999. I don't want to return to that feeling.

At least 80% of our fans want this team to lose, whether they admit it or not.

I for one support our team no matter what. Can't see how that could possibly hurt our chances of winning....

I agree completely it's just with the history of his blunders it gets aggravating. Many fans, like myself, strictly vent and their posts here are no indication of their loyalty, or lack of, to the team.

Great post, some people swear they have a personal vendetta against miles. These people want him gone regardless of how many games he wins and is sickening. If you wanna be mad at someone go piss and moan to skip Bertman he's the one who hired him. Miles did not hire himself!!!

Funny thing is I remember a lot of people second guessing the Skipper's coaching during the regular season... especially the last few years he was at the helm. Skip always used the regular season as a time to try out new pitchers and feel out his players while building them up into the men he needed them to be come tournament time. Yet there were always impatient fans and media folks who second guessed Skip constantly. And this was a man who won 5 national titles in 10 years time.

But I won't apologize for berating Miles for the 2nd & Goal and 3rd & Goal play calling. It's inexcusable. I am patient for the most part with Miles but when you see something that egregious, you've got to call a spade a spade. I will try my best to be patient and supportive, but God help him if there's another horrific set of coaching decisions like we say in the last 36 seconds against Tennessee.

I understand that everyone knows and miles admitted it was a WTF moment, all we can do is hope for a better showing Saturday. Fans need to support the team every week and stop being so negative, if a coaching change needs to be made it will be made in the offseason when were not 5-0.

The whole situation is just depressing. I think many are just starting to come to grips with how dire the situation really has become.

I do feel for the players. They are making the best of a bad situation, and completely caught in the middle this bitter battle between their coach and the fans. I will always cheer for the players.

Our coach however is a total baffoon.

Like I said, depressing.

I concur AlaTiger!

Support your team. Everyone on the team. If, at the end of the year, Miles and/or Crowton are gone, then support the men who take their place(s).

Why is this so hard? Do you think it makes their jobs of coaching & recruiting easier or more difficult with a bitching & moaning fanbase? I say the latter.

Support your team!

Why wouldn't the opinions of fans be particularly extreme? And FWIW, Les Miles is the laughingstock of the nation. It is an embarrassment to LSU that he's our head coach.

Not only is our offense pitiful, and not only is there little hope of said offense improving under the current staff, but Les Miles has had two very public, ridiculously incompetent late game mismanagement mindfricks in the past two seasons. I think he lost most of the fanbase due to his failure at Ole Miss in '09, and despite winning this game I think he's really started to piss people off and destroy our hope of competing with Alabama for the SEC West for the foreseeable future.

Not really, and it really will have to get much worse before it gets any better. Miles may have demonstrated his incompetence at this level and at this paygrade, but the cost of replacing him will be so prohibitively expensive that the team will have to tank at some point to make it happen.

Due for what? I don't know how many times you can go to the blind, dumb luck well in consecutive weeks.

A great many LSU fans have a fairly significant financial stake in how the game is played/won, and I think it would be very bad news for LSU if fans generally began to feel as though they had no personal stake in the performance of our football team. The whole point of the operation is to make people feel like they have a personal stake.

The LSU restaurant.

Some folks are getting too caught up in the stale bread brought by the unshaven waiter that they are unable to enjoy the vermouth aperitif, the sumptuous 7 course meal, dessert and the cognac digestif, not to mention the excellent service by the rest of the staff.

They start whining about the bread so often and so loud that some of the other diners (not all) start wondering if something is wrong in that they were enjoying the rest of the stuff and start to voice similar opinions (lest they be thought as foolish or indiscriminate with their tastes).

The Channel 4 guy wandering outside with the camera and mike comes in and sees this commotion and reports that the diners hate this place and that the entire restaurant sucks.
