See, ol Les did outsmart him.

Dooley lied, LSU did not clearly show any kind of offense...they were wasting time.
His 13 men were set and crouched to play defense with about 6 seconds left. If something was screwed up they should've called time-out.

there was a flag
they did have time to get off the field...problem was that 2 were running off then turned back around instead of running off

Hard to do with no timeouts.

WHen we kept our goalline personnel in...which we did until the late substitution is what he was talking about.
We did not have Toliver, Randle or Shep on the field...we were in goalline...he made a goalline call.
No lie there...and I am not a Dooley fan.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a flag was thrown by the back judge...(as I understand it)?

I feel certain both guys wished they had a time out left to call in that situation but neither one did.

No timeouts for either from accounts I read there, chief...

The extra men had time to get off the field, he even had a couple that ran to the sideline, ran back, and got set.
UT just didn't have enough time to get their minds right, and there is nothing in the rule book for that. That Dooley is ignoring what really went wrong (that the only thing that went wrong is players didn't react correctly) shows the lack of accountability he has for himself his program. Even Miles doesn't crutch officials in situations like these.

Exactly. And the fact that Dooley and the Tennessee media that are with him continue to ignore this fact speaks volumes.

so our frick up (waiting until the last second to substitute) caused their frick up (total confusion on who stays and who goes-a coupla of them started to leave and came back on). frick-up squared.

hide the kids, granddad cussing like a sailor.

Unfortunately...not just the Tennessee media. Couple this with the other Miles' clock management issues (see Ole Miss, Auburn, etc.) and his propensity for taking risks, he is now a major target for heat from the media. Other than the 4 million a year, I would hate to be Les Miles right now trying to coach, recruit, etc. under this shite. Frickin' nightmare.

Yes, per CBS

refs got it right plane and simple

What an idiot. "There was no flag." There were 2 flags

+1
Also, it appeared they were trying to replace 3 with 4, which would have still resulted in an illegal but highly effective "9-3" defense, but 1 of the 3 leaving ran back on to form the vaunted "9-4", pioneered by Tennessee in 2010.

He didn't have any timeouts left, but the ref made sure that he had time to complete the substitutions, as was correct for him to do. The game video give indisputable evidence that the ref stood at the line of scrimmage until it was clear that Tennessees subs were on the field and in place. The screwup, as noted, was when players who were running off the field ran back on.
There were no errors by the refs on this or in the no-calls regarding helmets at the end of the play.
