Correct me if I'm wrong but a flag was thrown by the back judge...(as I understand it)?

Hawthorne immediately noticed the flag on the radio broadcast (or at least his spotter did). Listening to that gave me a different perspective on the "UT got screwed" scenario. They immediately flagged them and confirmed it via replay.

There were no errors by the refs on this or in the no-calls regarding helmets at the end of the play.

Amen. There are a lot of reaches being thrown around by Vol fans. I understand. It sucks. They got caught with their pants down. LSU fans are handling the situation a lot more realistically. Our coaches screwed up.

On a hunch, I am going to go with the spotter. Hawthorne can't even get yardlines right and they are a hell of lot bigger than flags.

An ahole. He knew they had 13 players. He sounded much worse than Miles did.

So to review:
Our guy can't figure out how to read a clock
Their guy can't stop staring at a clock

Anybody remember when the SEC had the smartest coaches from top to nearly bottom?

Dooley says in his interview:
quote:

"I wanted to make sure that clock and the snap . . . you know . . . I wanted to make sure the clock was going to keep ticking to be honest with you. I've been around this business a long time and sometimes those things freeze up late in the game. And it did; it kept ticking."
If Miles had said that, he would be pilloried, drawn and quartered, placed on the rack, tarred and feathered, and crucified.

Dooley is giving Lawyer talk. I now know he knew he had too many players in on defense and he wanted off the field in a hurry.

The ONLY way he has a leg to stand on is if 2 guys would have been hauling arse to the sidelines to get off the field.......AND THEY WERE NOT! Everyone was set and playing ball, why should the refs have done more.

I'll go a step further, I truly believe they were more set or set earlier than we were. Obviously because our QB wasn't even looking after calling for the ball>
