why did miles and crapton call for a fade route in the end zone? we had been running well all day, why not pound it out on the ground and eat more clock?

the Vol's D was starting to look really tired at that point in the game.

Use Lee until we get to the 20, bring in Jefferson and run the ball from there. I'll take the safe route because of our defense.

Not to mention, it's the fade to our 240 lb HB, not to either one of our 6'4" wide recievers. Also, I know we scored, but you just saw the previous play of the ball being snapped over your QB's head, you get saved by a penalty and you still run a pitch trap instead of just safely handing the ball off on the last play. Not the smartest of plays called yesterday, but we should know by now to expect this junk.

i sure as hell hope we don't do that. we'll never score a TD that way. our opponent will simply stack the box and stuff the run. we don't need JJ to run the ball. i say we stick with JL and both run and pass. with them having to respect the pass, ridley gets some yardage. JJ has proven he can't get us in the endzone from the red zone. let's give JL a chance to prove he can.

when J.J. was the caller they stacked 8 in the box, and when Lee came in the pulled one out and only had 7 in the box. IMO-Lee gives us the best chance to win, and best chance to run the ball

as of now our Dream is still alive! it's on life support, but it is still alive!

Mr. Jefferson lately has proven an impediment to scoring...with the LSU offense.

This. What a terrible plan JJ is NOT a real running threat.

are you really asking us why Crowton called a certain play? Honestly, I don't think there's ever been any real rational behind his playcalling.

Thanks for reminding me. This was 100% stupid but they found a way to make me forget it with the chaos at the end.

It was a stupid play call given our running game, Lee's habit of having brain farts etc.

FWIW the pass to Ridley down the left sideline was a "Wheel Route", not a fade.

But, I did not understand the play call either. Then again, I have never coached football at tany level.

If you want to run from the 10, there is a #10 on the field who can take an end around or screen pass. Ridley is no slouch, either. Leave JL on for the pass threat and uh... here is the shocker... hand it to a back if you want to run.

We also have a TE that can sneak out into the seam or flat.

I've seen hundreds of non-running QBs perform this miracle a gagillion times.

The fade route to Shepard was also bad

That was IMO stupid to try that pass, if your gonna call that play atleast throw to your 6'4" starting WR who has trained day in and day out to make that catch!

or just run the damn ball!
