Haha. Yeah. I'm at the ready if it attacks. But it usually bolts in the opposite direction as soon as it sees me. I wouldn't care about the regulations if I felt the need to protect myself.

1. if you are in an area where cougars roam, you have been gifted in a special way that few can understand.
STRESS CHEMISTRY!!
From now on, as you move around your hunting area, you must act as if you are about to be hit with muscles capable of jumping over a 13 foot fence.

2. Be ready. I recommend you go with a friend who has testicles. If you have to pee, the other guy has your back.

I once saw a running BIG male cougar leap onto a VERY wide two lane road, hit the middle of the road, and jump to the hillside off the road. 1,2.


Remember the old football adage.

"Sometimes you get the bear. Sometimes the bear gets you."

I used to save news clippings of instances where the hunter was killed by the prey. Mostly buck deer sticking their antlers into some hunter who didnt have his weapon at the ready.
