Don't grab the glands or you will be sorry.

No, i will do this before i go so i am comfortable with the gun. where can i go?
If you have never fired a rifle before you will have no idea how to install the scope or sight it in so you will miss anything that comes near you. If you purchased the rifle at Academy or the like and allowed them to mount your scope you are in just as bad shape as you would be if you try to mount it yourself. I wish you luck.

I went and got a Remington .270 and some camo yesterday.
Forget the gun, you better wash the camo about 50-100 times and it better not all match either (have different patterns) or he will smell a rat when you get out of the truck. You can see a noob a mile away based on how he dresses. Good luck bro!
eta - you may want to stain your camo and add some small rips (like from briars), and for the love of god don't use scented detergent and fabric softener!!!

Somewhere on the very legs you plan to grab in order to drag your deer. Hopefully you will shoot a big buck allowing you other hand placement options.

new question. I talked to him today and he said i can use a box stand over a food plot. I looked up a few pictures on box stands and i have a question.
Do you wear camo or hunter's orange in a box stand? seems kinda pointless. But, if most hunters wear camo in a box stand i will. If most don't i dont want to look like an idiot and deck out in camo and hunter's orange to go sit in a box stand.

Come on man, seriously. Where do you grab to drag a deer then?

here's how i hope it goes down; tell me if this is how it's done:
-kill a deer
-go find it and tag it (how do you tag it?)
-drag it by it's hind feet back to my truck/drive truck to it
-pick it up into the back of my truck (is this easy? my truck is high)
-drive back to my house and get my brother-in-law to show me how to clean it
Miss, blame it on the scope and tell the guy thanks but his deer aren't big enough for you to come back.

cut a small hole in the ear and pass the tag through it.

On the hind legs but just not on the glands.

You grab it by both feet and pull. Or if it's a buck pull by the horn.
And you still wear camo in a box stand. Some hunting camps still require you to wear orange in the box stand. Or you have to have it on once you step out of the box stand.

I've always drug does by the ears or with a noose around their neck. They slide better if you're not pulling against the grain of the fur. You dont have to deck out in camo in a box stand. Shirt, Jacket, Hat are all you NEED, but it doesn't really matter. I've hunted in blue jeans many times on my highline stands. Just spray down with scent eliminator. If you get your gun sighted in, put the crosshairs of the scope on the shoulder and squeeze the trigger. When skinning, it depends on whats available. If you live close by, I wouldnt see why it would be a problem for you to load it up and bring it home and get your BnL to help you. In all actuality, the odds of you seeing a deer are slim. Just go and enjoy the outdoors.

It is a ritual of all deer hunters, that after you shoot a buck, you cut off its nuts and take a bite out of them.

I used to hunt in a small club in Satsuma when I was a kid. I killed my first dear there! I think the club was called Little Colyell Creek. Good memories!

clean it at his house. kind of stand around and let him take charge. You will pick up on what he is doing.
Did you buy a scope to put on the gun?
The sad thing is, if you kill, you're going to have to hold back your excitement since you're a "seasoned hunter"
